Jay-Z launches his own cannabis line under the brand 'Monogram'

The billionaire rapper holds the title of chief brand strategist in the company.

Monogram introduced three different products: the OG Handroll, Loosies Preroll Pack, and Flower, which comes in 2g or 4g jars.

Products are labeled with four different strains – No. 01, No. 70, No. 88 and No. 96 – and categorized as light to "keep your feet on the ground and your head in the clouds," medium, which is "not too heavy," or heavy for "when you need a serious high."

Prices range from $40 to $70 for each product.

"Cannabis has been around for thousands of years, yet it is still an industry whose legacy of skilled craftsmanship is often overlooked," Carter said in a statement to CNBC. "I created Monogram to give cannabis the respect it deserves by showcasing the tremendous hard work, time and care that go into crafting a superior smoke. Monogram products are next level when it comes to quality and consistency and we’re just getting started."

Fellow rapper Snoop Dogg launched his own line of cannabis products in 2015 by the name of Leafs By Snoop. Country music star Willie Nelson also debuted his own hemp- and CBD-infused products a year later under Willie's Remedy and Willie's Reserve.
