NBA superstar Draymond Green has been asking for a role in it
Actor Miguel A. Núñez Jr. who starred in the 2002 hit basketball movie recently told TMZ that a sequel is in the works. While speaking with the outlet at LAX, Miguel said that the movie is in fact happening even despite the times we’re in now.
“We are gonna do it. We are doing a Juwanna Mann 2. I can’t give you the details of it but you’re right it was complicated because of the issues now and because of the fact he was exposed,” Miguel said speaking of his character who dressed up as a woman and joined the women’s professional basketball league when his on-court antics got him suspended.
Miguel went on to say, “But I can’t give away the story but we are working on that. Miguel went on to add that other NBA players and the LGBTQ community will embrace the new film just like they did the first one.
As for reprising his role, Miguel said he will be in the film but he won’t be playing a basketball player since his knees “can’t do that part.”
In the original film, there were star athletes who were featured in the movie. When asked which basketball player will be included in the sequel, Miguel said they hadn’t locked that in just yet but NBA stars like Draymond Greene have expressed interest in being a part of it.
“I don’t know how we’re going do this one but Draymond Greene… I talk to him and he wants to be in it as well.”
